johan just visited the spanish radio show PLÁSTICO ELÁSTICO in madrid for a interview and to sing and play 4 songs live in the studio.

long time - no entry. well, here's some updates.

this weekend we are gonna start to mix demos for a new album. a taste of what to come will be posted in the mp3-section.
we will hopefully start the "real" recordings this summer after johan returns from his spring in barcelona...

there are plenty of my Orchard related music to discover until then.
- johan are busy with THE SOFT EYES that quite recently released their debut album and just came back from a scandinavian tour with canadian
RUSSIAN FUTURISTS. see them at kafé string the 14:th of december in stockholm.
he is also featured on one song on the new and selftitled album by SOPHIE RIMHEDEN.
- jenny has picked up the bass and goes rock n roll with NORMA BATES. they play live quite frequently and just released a cd, so check them out.

we're also very happy about the fact that the movie STRAIGHT OUTTA BENONI has been a great success on the big screen in south africa and that spanish radio seems to have
such excellent taste in music.

tv-tip of the day

today the french/swedish short movie STRÖMMARNA / LES COURANTS will be showned on SVT2 at 9:30PM.
our songs "out of focus" and "too cool for school" are in it, it seems very interesting and it has won some prizes and stuff so be sure to check it out.

south african movie premiere coming up

the premiere for the feature film STRAIGHT OUTTA BENONI is coming up. as we mentioned earlier, we have 4 songs in the movie and on it's soundtrack album.
it's now possible to check out the theatrical trailer for it here.

crazy! monkey! movie! music!

the director of the south african movie CRAZY MONKEY - STRAIGHT OUTTA BENONI have chosen 4 of our songs to be
featured in the film and on it's sound track.
the songs are "natural instinct" and "sweetest lies" (from SILHOUETTES) and
"too cool from school" (from 5 YEARS LONG AND...) and also "alone to decide" from our debut GREBO.
we feel honored and happy that the deal is finally set...

the movie will premiere in august this year and we're looking forward to seeing it.

the soft eyes

johan, linda and daniel have started working with the booking agency MONSTERA and their album is ready and
are just waiting to be released... it'll take a while longer though.
anyway, come by and visit them today (friday) at MONDO in stockholm, as they play a show there on the second floor.
AUDREY open and they also seem to be well worth experiencing, so be sure to be there around 10PM...

some international reviews...

silhouettes is now brought abroad and a few reviews are already in such as SELFISH (germany) and A DECOUVRIR ABSOLUMENT (france).

creativity

we have started off the new year with a creative buzz. last night two new songs got arranged with the working titles "go out" and "busted for speeding".
slowly a new album comes to life...
the songs already recorded are, for the moment, named; "everyday magic", "same way too", "beacon", "velcro", "next week" and "street lights".

new video out!

the video to "a list of things" (the opening track on silhouettes) is now ready and currently showned
on ZTV and MTV ALTERNATIVE NATION. it's some sort of mix between a family photo album and a trip around the world
or something; lo-fi stylish. it's made by camilla söderberg and we all like the vibe of it a lot.
the song is still up for free download here on the site...

great reviews for silhouettes...

...coming in. the nicest one must be the recent DAGENS SKIVA review. they award silhouettes the honorary
grade 9 out of 10!

the soft eyes goes to scotland!

johan's other band; THE SOFT EYES will play the FENCE COLLECTIVE part of the PITTENWEEM ARTS FESTIVAL in fife, scotland this week.
the band will play the opening day of the festival together with HEIKKI and THE CONCRETES the 10:th of august.
it'll be great to play in scotland for the first time and also get to watch and hear the people at FENCE (KING CREOSOTE, U.N.P.O.C etc.)
on their homeground...

silhouettes is out!

the new mini album silhouettes has now hit the stores!
it's distributed by BONNIER AMIGO in sweden/scandinavia if you can't find it where you usually buy records.
if you're not living in the area, it's easiest to order it from MASSPRODUKTION WEBSHOP.
it cost 7.10 EURO or 8.50 USD.

this tuesday the 27:th of april, my Orchard will play at ÖST 100, östgötagatan, stockholm.
we'll be on stage right after 10PM and FAKE MOSS and THE CALLAHAN will also be playing. the club opens at 9 and the fee is 40SEK.
the bands will dj until 3 in the morning...

our new cd silhouettes is now mixed, mastered and sent to the pressing plant.
it will be released the 19:th of may by MASSPRODUKTION and distributed by BONNIER AMIGO in sweden/scandinavia.

EP ON ITS WAY

this friday, MASSPRODUKTION will make their way down to the studio and stockholm to, together with us, select the tracks.
our goal is to have it released before the summer.

SHOW ON THURSDAY

on thursday february the 19:th, my Orchard will play on CLUB KAISER on MONDO 2nd floor, medborgarplatsen, stockholm.
we'll be on stage at 11PM and before us THE VIRTUES will be playing and afterwards FILLED.
the club is open between 9PM to 3AM and the admission is 40 SEK.

the 28:th of november. the wonderful bands anna ternheim and the tiny will also play during the evening.
ticket price is lowered to 40 SEK and it opens at 8PM so come and hang out!
the movie "when armstrong passed by, the sky was blue" by camilla bergqvist will be running during the night too...

a whole bunch of news from the my Orchard HQ.
we're fine, november's alive...

1. THE RECORDINGS OF THE NEW ALBUM

the still untitled, third album is under recording.
producers are my Orchard together with christian massana.
five songs are ready; "a list of things", "everyday magic", "beacon", "next week"
and "velcro". tomorrow the vocals will be added to three more songs...
the recordings will be done now and then during the fall and are due to be
ready for mixing around christmas.

2. TWO SONGS IN THE X-BOX GAME "GOTHAM CITY RACING"

my Orchard will be contributing with two songs in the new tv-game "gotham city racer 2"
that will be released by x-box in the states this fall.
it's "too cool for school" and "alone to decide" that will be pumping through the car stereo through the
street racing game.
we'll be updating you with more info along the way...

christian p. recorded us in december last year when we played at pipeline,

also the soft eyes are recording an album, when daniel and linda are not

a terrific (actually!) tribute album to julie doiron (ex. eric's trip) is
just out on the
belgium/canadian label paperheart music.
it's called "all their broken hearts" and features 26 renditions of her
songs.
besides the soft eyes version of "waiting for baby" there's stuff by great
bands as
moonsocket, wio and orange glass. if you like julie or eric's trip just a
little bit you

February the 17:th 2003

heyhey,

it's been a while since last time, and the site has been poorly updated due to some computer problems.
that'll change soon.
despite that we haven't been rolling our thumbs that much. my Orchard are generating a lot of new tunes right now.

this weekend three new songs was recorded; structures, gone and so great together with christian.
this is the second demo for the new album, and we're very pleased with the result.
stockholm's media school were there to film and interview us, a clip of that will be downloadable from the site within
a week or so.

you'll hear from us soon. let the sun blind you.

December the 18:th 2002

soon there's christmas and some peace and 2003 and new adventures.
so here's probably the last updates from us for this year.

1. my Orchard will play a show at PIPELINE, SUNDSVALL the 26:th of december.
the former guitarist odd's new band will also play there and we think it'll be a massive party.
be there if you can.

2. the show in ÖSTERSUND went fine, we were really tired and had caught some cold though and been driving all morning and day
but TINGSHUSET had some love to give anyway...

3. the song of the month from THE SOFT EYES (johan's other band) is available for download now.
the previous released songs from 2002 is also available to download during the christmas as well.
an album is planned to be released during the springtime 2003.

johan, tobias, jenny and jon wishes you a merry christmas and maybe we'll see you out in the snow, at some bar, bus or venue. love.

new songs is sprouting out from the my Orchard tree. the latest ones are called "gone", "deja vú" and "go out!".
the show in ÖSTERSUND is changed 'til the 12:th of december and COMBUSTION are still looking for a new venue to hold the show...

September the 26:th 2002

now the tour is over and my Orchard are licking their wounds (recreating from the long nights and fierce parties) and are starting to create new songs again.
it has been two nice weeks with good shows, late-night jams, insanity and hugs together with LEIF KARATE. thanks for the company!
pictures will appear on the site as soon as they're devoloped.

the show that was supposed to be tonight at the club COMBUSTION in STOCKHOLM is moved 'til november due to that the location was too small. it'll be a show then, butin a place that can host more people. take care of yourselves.

August the 13:th 2002

the summer's been great and is not yet over but johan, tobias, jenny and jon are back in STOCKHOLM again and things are happening again.
here's some of them:

1. this weekend my Orchard goes up to SUNDSVALL to record 3 songs together with stefan brisland (GARMARNA).
it'll be the songs "beacon", "velcro" & "next week".

2. my Orchard will play a show on wednesday next week (the 21:st of august) at FREDMANS in UPPSALA.
many new songs and also stuff from the albums will be sung and played live. welcome there and spread some love.

3. during the fall my Orchard will travel around sweden together with the 7 boys of LEIF KARATE

heyhey, summer/soccer world dup/new ideas/sun and rain/news from the my Orchard headquarter:

1. the site is updated with the videoclip for "too cool for school" the video is made by johan lehman and is recorded in SUNDSVALL.
assistant was daniel mårdstam.
you'll find it under the section called stuff.

2. the mp3 is a unreleased remix of "setting the sun" (from the GREBO-album). it's made by PEAKS in 1998 already.
might be fun to hear. look for it under the section mp3s.

3. the 9:th of august we're on the way up to SUNDSVALL to record 3 new songs together with stefan brisland (GARMARNA). as it looks right now it'll be the songs
"beacon", "velcro's" & "next week".

4. my Orchard and LEIF KARATE are planning a whole lot of shows together in the fall. more info about that later.

5. johan's other band THE SOFT EYES treats you (as usual) on this months free song in the genre of living-room music.

INSTANT FEELINGS RECORDINGS on wednesday and celebrate that at KÄGELBANAN, STOCKHOLM together with HEIKKI (jari from THE BEARQUARTET and maria from THE CONCRETES).
MARIT BERGMAN & ULF STURESSON will also perform and the dj:ing is provided by the bands.

the HI-FI MUSIC FOR LO-FI HEARTS compilation is finally out!
it contains 79 minutes of indie-pop music and no less than 23 bands appear on it.
my Orchard's SOMETHING NEW starts it off as song number one, followed by canadian bands like PURPLE KNIGHT, SHUTTER-BUG and EVIE,
scottish bands like THEE MOTHS and DEADENDSTEREO, belgian bands like ALISSE, MELON GALIA and WIO, american bands like CARISSA'S WEIRD and french bands like CALC...
johan's other band; THE SOFT EYES are also contributing with one un-released track; "let us all act psychotic".

* TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL didn't win the price for "song of the the year" at the SUNDSVALL MUSIC AWARDS
